I have played this game for many years, back when the MC was a red dot in a lighthouse. It has come a very long way since then. It is harder to get resources like salt now, the radiation is harder to treat, and lots of time is spent searching for survival items instead of actually playing the storyline. One thing I have missed for a long time is the ability to eat the bandits. Sorry but true. Otherwise, great game. And I do love the addition of pets.

So ill say this first, this game is HARD. Even on the easiest setting, your carrying weight is minuscule, which is a problem. If you set up a base somewhere in the beginning, you have to abandon it early on or you can never progress. It gets better when you manage to find a Vehicle, but the level you have to be to build it is unfair. And it literally drinks gas. You will go through more gas in minuets , then you can find in 5 real life days worth of searching. Its still a fun game though.

It's an okay game, and I can see that it's a pretty ambitious one by the sheer size of the world map. But, it just doesn't do it for me. It seems like a game that would be more enjoyable in a tabletop RPG/strategy format. I guess I'm just so used to the flashy animations in jRPGs and the cute pixels in roguelikes that the graphical sparseness puts me off. I guess what I'm saying is I recommend that anyone try it, but if you don't like it be sure to request your refund within 48 hours.
