This is a really good backgammon game both for beginners and intermediate players. I like the prompts that show you what moves are allowed so you can speed up your decisions, and I like that you can undo if you make a mistake and it will let you play it again with the same dice roll. I also like that you can speed the game graphics up and play fast games if you want to. My only critique is that if you're more of an advanced player the AI is not very competitive even on level 5.

I've played this game for a number of years and complained about the computer's doubling strategy and overall skill level. Since the most recent updates, it plays much better with more sensible doubling and playing skill. I'm still winning regularly (3:2) at level 8 and 11 point matches but it's better. It still does some questionable moves and seems all too ready to hit my pieces when that would leave it way too open to being hit but, as I said, way better game experience!.

I really like this version, but even though they say the AI isn't rigged, I've played over 200 games and the computer has almost twice as many doubles rolled. They have a nifty tracker that keeps track for you. You can use your own dice, and then input the number, which I like. I did that and won more easily. So it's a good app, but definitely roll your own dice.
Thank you for your feedback. Dice rolls are absolutely random, determined by a random number generator based on your device time in milliseconds, and independently tested and assessed as fair play (www.aifactory.co.uk/gli.htm). We simply have nothing to gain from rigged play.
