The experience is much better than it was at launch. It seems like a mostly effective tool for judging distance at ranges that have this enabled. It is easy to set up, as long as you choose the correct bay, and it doesn't require any other user input. I brought an iPhone 11 Pro with me because the reviews did not seem convincing, but my Pixel 3 worked very well. The numbers seemed a bit off but it was also 45° and windy. I'm not sure what is taken into account to calculate distance.

I am using the TrackMan technology at The Golf Place, a new simulator, in Langhorne PA. I have only just started to utilize some of it's vast potential, but so far the technology and feedback is incredible. Killian, at The Golf Place, is an expert at explaining how it all works and how I can utilize the various applications to improve my game.
