I wrote a short review previously, but then read all the complaints about the game, and feel compelled to be more specific. Here's what you need to know about KOW. The game play is a fairly familiar, real time strategy war game, where you build your base, join a squad, engage in a range of individual tasks and gathering. And to the extent you so choose, you engage in group activities including all out war against other guilds to obtain territory and the perks that come with it. Finding a squad with good leadership is the key to having fun in KOW. The game is WWII themed. It' all about tanks, and offensive firepower. There's little to no true defensive strategy. Now, the elephant in the room -- I assume to attract a certain type of customer, the hero building aspect of the game involves collecting and upgrading officers, all of whom are sexy female characters that are comically silly. On this aspect of the game, trust me, you'll be disappointed either way. Either you're interested in a mature, adults only game, in which case, this ain't it. Or you're like me, you will find the whole 'hot officer' thing to be rather embarrassing. The good news is, you can pretty much ignore it and enjoy the solid game play. The game is absolutely riddled with in-game mechanics. Perks, things you can collect, challenges, team events, a hundred ways to gather rewards and RSS, upgrades galore, and social features. You will either love this (I very much do), or find it overwhelming. Personally, I love the way the game constantly keeps me busy. I actually wish there were even more mechanics. Do you need to pay to win? Technically, no. Practically, yes. Upgrades require a lot of in-game resources, which take patience to collect. And upgrades take a long time to complete, especially as the game progresses, so yeah, you find yourself dropping $4.99 now and then to get boosts, currency and/or speed-ups. But honestly, I spend just as much at Starbucks and get way less entertainment value out of it. Like every game I've ever played, there are people who must spend an absolute fortune to get to where they are. But that's not unique to KOW. I'd say, if you're willing to spend 20 bucks once in a while, you can compete really well. Last but not least, people complaining about perf, bugs, etc just must have played very few other RTSGs. Sure, there are glitches, but overall, the game is well maintained. The two complaints I have are... First, it's a war game, and war is REALLY costly in game. It takes a lot of resources to fight, and even more to recover. KOW devs really ought to ask themselves, why make a war game where there's so much DIS-incentive to fight? Second, there are mega powerful squads that, once they take foot, are basically impossible to conquer. KOW devs should consider finding ways to prevent and/or break up these monopolies so that developing squads and players have more hope to succeed. That said, it is fun knowing unambiguously who the bad guys are. Bottom line: VERY solid war game. VERY fun. YES there are some costs. I'd recommended to absolutely anyone.

They've made some small adjustments for f2p players (like gold for gathering), but a LOT more for mega-spenders (whales). I spend a fair amount, but once I got fairly powerful they kept adding things to buy, and whales keep buying everything they add, no matter the cost. It would literally cost $10,000 or more to compete on level ground with the strongest players. I have friends that have played hours a day every day for almost 2 years, AND have spent $500+ and still get crushed by whales

Played this for almost a year now. This game gives you the ability to pay to win, you could spend thousands. But there aren't any pay walls. Other players who have played longer than you will be a lot more powerful, I mean a lot. Like the ability to instantly whipe out 1 million T4 troops instantly. It's a fun game to log on 2-3 times a day and do the daily missions or events. Once you get buildings above level 26 they take forever to complete. Talking like months. You do have speed ups to help.
Dear Commander, thank you very much for your comment. Thank you for your love for the game. Our game can also improve strength through daily tasks and slow development. In addition, because our game is a war development type, our game needs to spend a certain amount of time to improve combat power. I wish you all the best.
