I really enjoy the NYT games partly because I think they help keep my brain active. I enjoy how much I have to concentrate and problem solve for some games some days, but I also enjoy the days when the puzzles aren't as challenging. Both are necessary to keep a broad audience engaged and participating. My one complaint is that the Mini Crossword puzzles were free for a long time and suddenly are behind a subscription fee. I don't want to have to buy a pack to do the smaller puzzles.

Paying to play ruins this. especially the price. $50 a year is insanity. I'd consider it if it was the introductory price always... but even then that's scummy. There are so many free options out there that paying for this isn't worth it. To make matters worse, my free games aren't always the same as my friend's free games for the day, so our leader boards dont always line up. The free games are fun, and I'd give this a 5 star easily if you didn't have to subscribe to access everything.

Love the games; the app, not so much. In several games, the size and placement of the grid vs. keypad are awkwardly placed, esp. Wordle, Strands, and Sudoku. The Connections font is disproportionately huge, to the point of cutting off part of some longer words. Overall, the layouts are not nearly as intuitive as the website. I am uninstalling the app and going back to the desktop shortcut to the website. (Playing on 10" and 8" Samsung tablets.)
