My family has used this for 3 Christmas's in a row and its truly the best. We all have a budget and honestly its more fun to play secret Santa and spoil one person. The wish lists are great for all year long to get people birthday gifts. You get to write up a fun invite, set draw rules (we set it so partners cant draw each other), customize with the drawing date, invite as many or little people as you want. I have shown so many others this app as its really made the holidays unique and fun.

I've used elfster for at least a decade, planning exchanges with friends and coworkers, saving lists to give to my family. But lately there's been an issue that's been really frustrating. I copy in a link from another website, and sometimes it works and loads the data, but if it doesn't, it discards the link. Even if I try to put in my own description and photo, the link is gone so it won't take anyone to the specific item. Would be perfect if that could be fixed

We are using it for a small group, 6 people. Works well. I would rate higher but the name drawing algorithm is a tad glitchy. When a redraw has to occur, it seemed to assign the exact same names at least 3 times in a row before the name changed. My favorite is the wish list. I love the choice of vendors a d categories are so helpful, the best? I can add a like to an item from a site that maybe isn't part of elfster!
We elves love hearing that your favorite is the wishlist! We 💚 wishes and you can wish for anything! About drawing the same person: much like reaching into a hat & getting the same piece of paper, it's possible to get the same name a few times when you don't keep the name. Draw restrictions will keep people from drawing a name they shouldn't. ✨
