gameplay is as shown, but progress quickly bogs down unless you pay. I would have given this a 4/5, but they lost a star because they are showing ads that force you to the play store, even if you leave it on the ad for 5 minutes. So Hex loses a star and guess what, I'm closing the app to skip ads rather than watch them and be forced to the play store. Dunno if hex still gets ad revenue or not. Despite this I am still playing 1-5 matches a day. design is nice, some matches are complete luck based

While overall fun for a while. Unfortunately, this game falls into the same path as all the other ones that are like it. If you hit stage four or five and if you are a free player, you might as well just hang it up. You will immediately start losing about eighty percent of your battles unless you were "Lucky" or paid for chest to get gold and upgrade shards for legendary units. And you can't earn gold or diamonds in a way that's productive for long-term playing of this game as a free player.

The game is a wonderful idea and has great potential. However, it is completely unbalanced. Right from the start you are forced to spend as you are outmatched. Losses lose progress, so there is no grinding out to next levels to get strong enough to compete, hence, forced to spend money. The troops you unlock are random, and even the best strategy can be thwarted by a single lucky draw by the opponent.
