Build quaint island towns with curvy streets. Build small hamlets, soaring cathedrals, canal networks, or sky cities on stilts. Block by block. No goal. No real gameplay. Just plenty of building and plenty of beauty. That's it. Townscaper is an experimental passion project. More of a toy than a game. Pick colors from the palette, plop down colored blocks of house on the irregular grid, and watch Townscaper's underlying algorithm automatically turn those blocks into cute little houses, arches, stairways, bridges and lush backyards, depending on their configuration.

Townscaper isn't a game in the traditional sense - there are no goals or objectives, no enemies, no time limits and no bosses to be found here. Rather, it's a building toy, and an utterly charming one at that. There are loads of wonderful little randomly generated visual flourishes that appear contextually, and it's entirely possible to lose hours pottering about fashioning tiny villages, vast castles and bizarre abstractions. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Townscaper is a very simple . . . thing. It isn't a game, or even a simulator, really. What it is is beautifully designed, and amazingly relaxing. The only thing I would recommend the developer do is add some sort of first-person camera, so you can wander around the towns you create -- it'd be nice really nice way to immerse yourself in your own little universe.

Fantastic little mini city builder. Worth every penny. I'm so glad it's made its way over from the PC version of the game because it seems the mobile is where this game belongs. For the developer: Please add a hide-UI/photomode option for screenshots! Also, would love the option for 'tap-to-erase' as it's a little tedious removing blocks at the moment.
